Brief back ground: Every year we open gifts in the front room near the Christmas tree. The kids always stay here for at least an hour after opening stuff, just playing with it all. They don't ever go into the back family room until later in the day.
Set up: We laid out the Christmas gifts under the tree. Set up the Wii, Guitar Hero, Mario Cart in the family room (back of the house) in a nice neat pile. We positioned the video camera. Viola, done.
Today: Kids walk into the front room, sit near their piles and tear through it all. They proceed to play play play. We sit around and visit.
Gabe (according the the video) walks into the family room alone. Speechless (really, he was. I know!), his hand starts to shake. He screams "Oh! Oh! Oh!" "guys, guys, someone got Guitar Hero!!!". He runs to one side of the room screaming, he runs to the next side of the room, still screaming. Enter Andrew. He gasps. "ooooh! Oooo!".
I don't remember the rest. Just a lot of jumping up and down and screaming. It was fun. Thanks Gilbert for the bestest creative idea from my not-so-creative (okay, I was wrong) son. :)
